Lifespring Camp was established in 1968 for kids’ ministry and as a place of renewal and experiencing God in the Algoma Region. We are located on Lower Island Lake in Heyden, Ontario, 15 minutes north of Sault Ste. Marie. 

The campground is open June-October each year for: day use by the community, kids’ camp, meeting rooms and rentals, and community events where possible.


The camp is situated on two acres of waterfront property on Lower Island Lake. Facilities include

    • Grass lawn and hill for outdoor activities

    • Inspected by Algoma Public Health each year for compliance
    • Equipped with triple sink, stoves, fridges 
    • Large food preparation area
    • Filtered and UV-treated water, hot water tank
  • Dining and Meeting Areas
    • Two multipurpose halls (Main Hall and Upper Room)
    • Each hall has seating capacity and chairs available for up to 50 people
    • Main Hall is equipped with projection screen and is suitable for audiovisual equipment setup.
    • Flexible setup and layout options – eg dining, meetings, presentations, church services, corporate training sessions, staff retreats
    • For those considering accessibility needs, the Main Hall is located at ground level with a concrete ramp to the door.

    • As a campground used by all age groups and the wider community, we maintain an alcohol-free, tobacco-free, and cannabis-free facility. 
    • This includes all outside events, rentals, or bookings using the Lifespring Campground Property

Directions to Lifespring Camp

(1) Drive north on Highway 17 from Sault Ste. Marie for approximately 10 km.

(2) Turn right onto ON-556 E (signs for Searchmont/Ranger Lake) for 4 km

(3) Turn right onto Cameron Road. Destination will be on the right.
